Oil Changes Done Right
for All Makes & Models

An oil change sounds simple, but the details matter. The wrong oil viscosity, a cheap filter, or skipping the drain plug washer can cause problems down the road. At Pro Automotive Repair, we do oil changes the way they should be done — with the right oil, the right filter, and a quick inspection while we're under there.

We carry conventional, synthetic blend, and full synthetic oils. We'll recommend what your vehicle actually calls for based on the manufacturer's specs — not the most expensive option on the shelf.

Choose the Right Oil

Understanding Your Options

Not all oil is the same. Here's what you need to know about the different types and which one is right for your vehicle.

Conventional

Standard motor oil refined from crude petroleum. Works well for older vehicles, low-mileage drivers, and engines that don't require synthetic. Most affordable option.

Change interval: 3,000 - 5,000 miles

Synthetic Blend

A mix of conventional and synthetic base oils. Better protection than conventional at a moderate price. Good choice for trucks, SUVs, and vehicles with moderate demands.

Change interval: 5,000 - 7,500 miles

Full Synthetic

Engineered from the ground up for maximum protection. Required by most modern vehicles. Better flow in cold starts, more stable at high temps, and lasts significantly longer.

Change interval: 7,500 - 10,000 miles

High-Mileage

Formulated for engines with 75,000+ miles. Contains seal conditioners that help reduce oil consumption and leaks in aging engines. Available in conventional or synthetic.

Change interval: varies by base type

Don't Skip It

What Happens When You Skip Oil Changes

Oil doesn't just lubricate — it cools, cleans, and protects internal engine components. Over time, oil breaks down, gets contaminated with dirt and combustion byproducts, and loses its ability to do its job. Here's what happens when you let it go too long.

1

Oil Turns to Sludge

Old oil thickens and forms sludge that clogs oil passages and starves engine components of lubrication. Sludge removal is expensive and sometimes impossible.

2

Increased Engine Wear

Without proper lubrication, metal components grind against each other. Bearings wear, cylinder walls score, and cam lobes flatten. This damage is cumulative and irreversible.

3

Engine Overheating

Oil carries heat away from critical engine parts. Degraded oil can't dissipate heat effectively, leading to hot spots, warped components, and potential head gasket failure.

4

Complete Engine Failure

In the worst case, an oil-starved engine seizes completely. A spun bearing or seized piston means a new engine — thousands of dollars that a $50-80 oil change would have prevented.

A regular oil change is the cheapest insurance your engine has. We recommend following your manufacturer's interval — typically every 5,000 to 7,500 miles for most modern vehicles.

More Than Just Oil

What's Included

Every oil change at Pro Automotive includes a quick multi-point check so we can catch small problems before they become big ones.

Drain & Replace Oil

We drain the old oil completely, replace the drain plug washer, and fill with the correct type and amount of fresh oil for your vehicle.

New Oil Filter

Every oil change gets a new OEM-quality filter. A fresh filter is essential — a clogged filter bypasses, sending unfiltered oil through your engine.

Fluid Level Check

We check and top off brake fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, and windshield washer fluid while we're in there.

Tire Pressure Check

We check all four tires and adjust to the manufacturer's recommended pressure. Proper inflation improves fuel economy and tire life.

Visual Inspection

A quick look at belts, hoses, air filter, battery terminals, and anything else visible from the top and bottom. We'll let you know if anything needs attention.

Reset Oil Life Monitor

We reset your vehicle's oil life monitor and apply a reminder sticker so you know exactly when your next change is due.

Quick & Easy

Time for an Oil Change?

Don't put it off. An oil change is quick, affordable, and the single best thing you can do for your engine's longevity. Give us a call and we'll get you in and out — most oil changes take about 30 minutes.

Not sure what oil your car needs or when it was last changed? No problem — we'll look it up and let you know. We keep it simple and honest, every time.
